Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!  I love Easter - what a wonderful day that God gave to us.  He is risen!

We had a low key day this year, which was much needed.  Calvin had yesterday and today off, and I feel like we're always trying to go places and fit things in on his days off.  So we decided to stay home!  We went to church, came home and searched for the eggs the Easter bunny hid, then spent the whole day outside!  It was beautiful here, and that hasn't happened for a long time.  We got a lot of stuff done in the yard, made our spring trip to Menards, and have been finishing up today.  It's beautiful today too!  We didn't do a big meal, just had burgers for supper.  We're doing a turkey today, but didn't feel like cooking yesterday, so we didn't!

She loved searching for eggs; next year we'll have to find better places.  She found them too quickly.  There are still a few left, so we'll see when she finds them.

Big girl bed

My baby is in a big girl bed!  Only potty training left to go, and she's officially no longer a little girl (oh yeah...and her pacifier...).  I held out until I thought she'd try to climb out - she was starting to try and climb in, so I figured out wasn't far behind.  We just took the one side of her crib off - more familiar that way, and the crib has a dresser and changing table attached that I still use.  She is SO proud of her new bed.  She likes to do everything herself now, so the fact that she can get in bed is wonderful to her.  We just did it on Friday, and she's done great.  The first night she didn't wake up at all!  Saturday night she was up a few times, but just because the blankets fell off.  I think I need to get a twin sized blanket so I can tuck it in.  I shut the door to her room (always have), and we've only heard her get out of bed a few times.  She'll just lay there in the morning/after nap until we come to get her - she does get books or more animals and bring them in, but just stays in there nice.  What a good girl!  I got a bed rail, but I guess it's only for twin beds, so we just put blankets on the floor next to her.  So far she hasn't fallen out!
