Here are the girls in front of the tree. These are the outfits they wore to church today. It's Jocelyn's first time wearing big girl clothes - she mostly just wears the one piece pj type outfits. Our friends Aubrey and Tony gave her the outfit - I think it's so cute. However, everyone thought she was a boy because she was in blue! We tried to have the butterfly showing on her undershirt, but no one noticed. Good thing she won't remember. :)

Tree shopping
We got our Christmas tree this week and decorated it this weekend. We got a smaller one than we have in years past - it's still 7', but with 2 dogs this year (and Ellie's tail being destructive), it just wouldn't have worked to get a bigger one!
Weeks 2 and 3
Here are Jocelyn's 2 and 3 week old pictures - she's growing so fast! She's outgrown her newborn outfits because she's too long. She's still eating really well - I'd guess she's well over 8 pounds now. She's not very consistent with her nighttime sleeping yet - it's been anywhere from every hour and a half to every four hours. Last night was a four hour night - thank goodness. She's also getting way too used to being held or laying in her gliding chair for naps - that needs to stop! But she's just so cuddly and warm, and I know pretty soon she'll be too big for that, so I'm taking advantage while I can. :) She loves to take baths - if she's really upset we can just turn on the water and she stops crying instantly. It's really funny, and a sanity saver sometimes! She's a lot more alert and interactive now which is fun. I can't wait until she starts smiling at us. We're having a great time with her and are so blessed to have her in our lives.
Thanksgiving
Yes, I know it's December, and I'm just getting pictures put up from Thanksgiving. But I finally have a night where Jocelyn is content and not hungry, so Calvin is taking over baby duty for a few hours!
We had a great Thanksgiving weekend this year - we have so many things to be thankful for! We started out the weekend at Calvin's parent's house on Thursday, along with 22 other family members! It's always a big crowd there and we had a great time. Jocelyn had been in a mood - she only wanted to be held. Great day for that - I only saw her when she woke up and needed to eat! Then Friday my family came to Eau Claire for the weekend. My sister and her husband came from Boston and my brother and his fiance came from Seattle. Of course Mom and Dad were here too! We had such a fun weekend - we went on a tour of the Leinenkugel's brewery, played for 3 hours at Action City playing go karts, laser tag, bumper cars and many other fun things! It was great to see everyone and for them to meet Jocelyn. Luckily they only have to wait until January to see her again in Mexico!

Notice the pacifier - yeah! We finally got her to take one. She's a sucker, but doesn't really care for the taste of the pacifier. She's also very particular about when she'll take it - she'll gag if she's not in the mood for it! We have to start bottles this week to practice for when I go back to work, so that should be interesting....
Don't worry - Calvin was right behind her holding her up on the couch... :)

First Doctor's Appointment
Jocelyn had her first doctor's appointment yesterday, and she did great! She's gained back all her weight and then some - she's up to 7 lbs., 7 oz. She's a good eater! Also, I'm never writing her sleeping times again - I think I jinxed us. The last 2 nights she's been up every hour and a half! Last night she didn't fall asleep until 12:30, and had been up since 8:00. She's much more alert during her awake periods so that's really fun. We had our first night alone last night when Calvin went in to work as they have a manager out sick this week. We did pretty good, she even slept while I ate dinner, which was great! We read some books and she had some tummy time, so I think it was a productive evening. :)

Baby Jocelyn
Well, I'm finally getting around to updating our blog! It's amazing how much time a little tiny baby takes. :) Jocelyn Hope has arrived! She was born on Monday, November 10th at 7:06am. She weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. and was 20 in. She was a good baby from the start - we got to the hospital at 2:30am and she was born 4 1/2 hours later! I only had to push for half an hour and did the whole labor drug free. I was pretty proud of myself - that was my goal after attending our childbirth classes and I was thankful to be able to do it. I couldn't have done it without Calvin - he was a great coach, and his support meant everything. I may have caused permanant damage to his hands from squeezing them all morning! We stayed in the hospital until Wednesday and were glad to have the wonderful nurses take her to the nursery both nights so we could get some much needed uninterrupted sleep! It was great to come home though, and we have been treasuring and loving every minute with our new daughter. It's hard to believe she's already a week old! She's a good baby, she sleeps about 4 hours at a time at night - last night she went to bed at midnight and didn't wake up until 5! We're getting the nursing down too; she loves to eat! She's had lots of visitors - and she's going to be the best dressed girl around! She has cuter (and more) clothes than I do.
Uncle Cory - he wanted a boy so he could teach it how to bow hunt - maybe she'll be a hunter?
Proud big sister Kailee! She just loves her baby sister - she picked her birthday in our baby pool - pretty neat. She is a great big sister and is a wonderful helper.
Grandma & Grandpa Bergner
They drove over at 3:00 in the morning so they could be here to meet Jocelyn! They were here this weekend and were a huge help - I caught up on some much needed sleep.
Great Grandma, Ama, Kailee, Jocelyn, Calvin & Bumpa
They've made us many meals and love to come over for visits!
Going home
Aunt Angie & Uncle Adam
The dogs are slowly adjusting - Ellie doesn't really pay too much attention to her, but seems to like her okay. Ginger, on the other hand, isn't a fan. She's finally stopped running away from her when she cries or squeaks, but she's still wary of her and she's mad at me. I hope she gets over that soon!
Kailee's first poopy diaper change - more of those will follow!
Our first outing was to Target - where else? :)

Random things
I had some random pictures to put up - here are some from Halloween and some from the house. Enjoy!
Kailee was the princess from Pirates of the Carribean - it was about 60 degrees out - the first Halloween ever she didn't have to wear layers under her costume!
Here are some more pictures of the nursery with more stuff in it - it'll look even better once there's a baby in it!
This is the buffet we got from my Grandpa's house - Dad refinished it and it looks great! It matches the house and the rest of the woodwork perfectly, and now we'll actually use our china! It was kinda fun unpacking it all - most of it was still in boxes from our wedding....

38 Weeks
Well, the first day picked in the baby pool has come and gone...Calvin's guess was yesterday. He was really disappointed he didn't win! Monday is the next day to aim for. I think the baby's dropped a bit - especially comparing the picture from last week to now! At my last appointment I was 1-2 cm dilated, so we're making progress. I go in again on Monday, so we'll see what the update is then. I'm finishing up getting my bag packed today, so now I really will be all ready to go!
