Back to Work

Well, the vacation was over this week when I had to go back to work. It actually went much better than I expected. It was actually kind of nice to get out of the house, have some adult conversation, and see all my friends at work again. Since I'm only there 3 days a week, I don't feel too bad. She's sleeping really well too - about 4 hours at a time. I can handle only waking up once to feed her; I'm not too tired anymore.

Mexico

Here are some of our pictures from our fabulous trip to Mexico! Oh yeah, and my brother's wedding. :) We had such a wonderful time, it was great to spend a whole week with the whole family, friends and Katie's family and friends. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous. The day was really hot, but by the evening it had cooled off and actually looked like it might rain! It never did, but probably saved everyone from heat stroke! The flowers were beautiful, the music was fantastic, and Katie looked gorgeous. My brother sang a song to her during the dance, which I missed because I was feeding the baby! They are a wonderful couple, and we're so glad to have Katie as a part of our family.
We had a fun week of relaxing by the pool, shopping, looking for sea shells and just enjoying the nice weather and good food. Jocelyn was a super traveler - she did great on the plane and adjusted well to the warm weather. Kailee had a blast and lost 2 teeth while we were there - the Mexican tooth fairy came and brought her Pesos! We have literally thousands of pictures from everyone, but here are just a few....

Rylan, Katie's nephew, released 2 doves - it was so cute! He had to jiggle them around to get them to fly away, I'm sure the poor things were scared to death....

The view from our room - does it get any better than this?

At the airport when we arrived - she'd never experienced warm weather before! She loved being outside and now I really can't wait for summer.

Rylan - Katie's nephew and Kailee were inseperable the whole week. He's 2 1/2 and thought Kailee was the best thing ever. It was great for her to have someone to play with too, plus she loved all the attention!

The boys went deep sea fishing and Jonathan (Katie's husband) caught one of the 2 sail fish. Our caretakers made it for us for dinner on Thursday night, and it was delicious!

The sunsets were beautiful

2 Months

Here are Jocelyn's 2 month pictures! She's growing so much and getting so big. She had her 2 month doctor's visit today along with 3 shots! She did great - she only cried for about a minute, but she had real tears. She's up to 12 lbs., 2 oz. and 22.5 inches. She's outgrowing most of her 3 month clothes and is almost in size 2 diapers! Yikes.

She's getting better at sleeping; last night she had a 4 hour stretch followed by a 3 hour stretch! Yeah! Now we just need to get her to bed earlier and cut down on the sleeping in (she likes to sleep until 9:00 - great for weekends, not so much for work!). We go to Mexico next week and then I go back to work the week after that. She'll be with Calvin's mom & Calvin that week, and then starts day care the first week in February. She'll be at the same daycare Kailee has been at since she was 6 weeks old, so I feel very comfortable sending her there. The teacher has been there since Kailee was an infant and seems very nice. She'll be there Tuesdays and Thursdays and with Calvin's mom on Wednesdays. I'm going to be working 3 10-hour days and will have Mondays and Fridays off. That's the plan so far - we'll see how it goes. Those are long days if she's not sleeping thru the night! She's sleeping in her own room now, but still in the bassinet. She's not a fan of the crib yet, so she's napping in there to get used to it. The smiles and talking are more frequent now, and she continues to amaze us with everything she does!

Saying "oooo" - that along with "ah-goo" are her favorites

Neenah Visit

Here are some pictures from our visit to Neenah to visit some of my mom's family. Jocelyn got to meet her Great Grandma along with Great Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends. We had a great time hanging out, playing games and eating wonderful food! Jocelyn did great; she slept the whole way there and back. She's a great traveler so far - I hope that continues!
