4H Fair

In addition to softball, Kailee's other big thing this year is 4H.  She got a puppy last summer, and she does agility, showmanship, and obedience with her.  We didn't get to see her show, but she got 3rd in agility!  She really has fun with that and loves her dogs!  They have to do quite a bit for 4H, and this weekend she had to work a game booth at the fair.  So we went too, and looked at all the animals and exhibits while she worked.

This camel in the petting zoo really liked Jocelyn

Ella's Birthday Weekend

Last weekend we went up north to the Brown's lake house for Ella's 1st birthday!  How is she one already?!  We had such a wonderful time - the weather couldn't have been better, and the company is always fabulous as well.  Sorry about the unorganization of the pictures - it's a pain to move them around, and I put them in in the wrong order.

Trying to drink the lake water....
Dad had been up at Katie and Brian's for a few weeks before helping them to paint their house and condo.  He grew a beard while he was there!  I've never seen him with one - I think he said it was the first time he'd ever grown one.  It's gone now, but I think it looked good on him!

One of the two desserts Katie made - so cute!

Yummy, yummy, yummy!  She actually stayed pretty clean and loved the delicious banana cupcakes Katie made.

Katie's brother and his family were up the whole weekend too, and Jocelyn had so much fun playing with their kids.
Mackenzie, Rylan and Jocelyn on the tube.  I'm shocked she actually got on with no adults, but she did great...
...until the tube went under.  And I think she may have been fine, but Mackenzie started crying, and Jocelyn cries whenever anyone else does, so she started in as well.  We had to jump in to get them, and that was the end of the tube riding for the girls!  Rylan went back on, but with his dad this time.

Me trying to convince her to get back on the tube with me - she was having none of that.  Maybe next year.
Me, Katie, and Katie's mom, Merrilee enjoying the cool water while lounging on life jackets

The first night we were there we were treated to this gorgeous sunset

Getting pretty brave...she'll be walking soon!

We brought Ellie with, but left Ginger with Calvin's sister Angie.  Ellie had a great time swimming and playing in the water.
Katie's brother built this raft and put the slide on - I'm not sure who had more fun on it, the kids or the adults!

Trying to get Ella to look at the camera and smile

She didn't really care about opening presents - good thing the other 3 were willing to help!

Calvin, Nick and Rylan did some fishing, and this was the biggest one!

We all came home with a great tan - I'm so glad the weather was so nice.  We spent so much time in the water - it is a very nice, clear lake and the water was perfect.  This is going to be a yearly tradition for her birthday - I'm already looking forward to next year!
