Black Snowpants

Next year I'm buying a black coat and snowpants for Jocelyn.  Look at this mess!  It had rained all day this day and when we got home from running some errands she really wanted to play outside - she got out there before I could catch her and was making a mess of her clothes (hence the snowpants outside of the coat).  She, of course, doesn't care and absolutley can't wait until it's nice out so she can play outside every day!  About 2 days after this we got 7" of snow, so she's going to have to wait a little bit longer.  She's really grown up a lot over the winter - she doesn't need any help getting up the ladder and can even use the one with the rungs far apart.  She likes the regular swing as opposed to the baby swing, although if she wants to go really high then she'll go in the baby swing.  She'll be climbing the monkey bars before we know it!

And here's a random picture with an Easter basket on her head. :)

Govin's

We went to Govin's farm again this year to look at all the baby animals.  It was considerably colder this year, and even more crowded!  The girls had so much fun; we could have dropped them off and they would have been content to stay there all day!
She was scared of their baaing - too loud.  But she really wanted to pet them.

She LOVED feeding them.  If I would have had more quarters we could have fed every sheep in the place!

She was very gentle with the chicks...I can't say that for all the little kids there.  I wonder how many get squished in a season....

I do kinda wish we had a little farm with a few animals.  I know it's a lot of work, but the girls (and Calvin) would have so much fun.  Maybe someday....

Henry Morgan

Our newest nephew has arrived!  Henry Morgan Kavanaugh was born on Friday, March 18th, to Morgan and Nicole.  He's a very sweet baby and everyone is doing great!  We've been over to see him twice already - once the Monday after he was born and then again last Sunday so Kailee could meet him too.  I think they're going to be sick of us pretty soon!  It was so fun to hold him and snuggle.  I truly can't remember Jocelyn being that tiny - she looks like a giant compared to him!

She did great with him - was so excited to hold him and touch him.  She had a bit of a runny nose so I wouldn't let her touch his face.  She didn't even care when Cal and I held him!

Here she's saying "Yook at how tiny he is!"

 Ama with her 3 grandchildren
All of us in our striped shirts...the girls didn't even plan it!

Kailee's Birthday

Happy 11th Birthday Kailee!  Wow - where did that time go?  11 just seems grown up.  It was kind of a bummer birthday this year; on her actual birthday Calvin had a fishing show and then had to work, so we squeezed in cake and singing in between those things.  We waited and did presents and another cake the Wednesday after her birthday, which she thought would have been much better to do the Wednesday before her birthday.  I guess that's what happens when you get old.

Look at that beautiful grown up girl!

This cake she got all the candles on the first try, but Wednesday night I think she had 3 left....

Some things never change...she had to open the biggest present first.
I hope she learns to play and enjoys it - she loves music so much that I think she will.
She opened 2 boxes full of clothes - hooray for Old Navy clearance sales!  She was very excited to get all the new clothes.  Man that girl grows fast!  We can almost wear the same size shirts and shoes!

How Much Is That Doggie?

No, don't worry - we're not getting another dog.  Here are two cutie videos of Jocey singing How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?  Sorry it's while she's eating again, but she's not one to sit still for very long.  Enjoy!

Winter Boredom

We're ready for spring.  Especially today, now that it's light out until 7:30.  We should be spending the evenings outside!  I can't wait to post pictures of the garden, playing on the swingset, sprinkler...the possibilities are endless!  Now you're just stuck with boring pictures of us playing inside...again.  I'm glad I live where there're seasons though.  It makes the year more exciting.  Now we're longing for spring; in the fall we'll be longing for snow.  Well, maybe not longing....

Here's a bathtub drawing from Jocelyn.  I drew the smiley faces (I know, quite the artist) but she added the arms and legs on the orange person, and the arms, legs and hair on the pink person!

Along with the princess dress up stuff I discovered 3 doctor's kits!  I'm not quite sure how we have 3.  So, we donated one and she kept the other 2.  It's one of her favorite things to play these days!  Here she is giving Ann the full check up.

Last Friday was Calvin's birthday.  We celebrated on Wednesday with dinner and brownies at his parent's house.  We didn't even go out for his birthday yet - I was feeling like I was getting sick starting on Wednesday, and just felt better yesterday.  Now he has a stuffy nose and isn't feeling well today!  We'll get out one of these days....

Jocelyn is very into birthdays - we have a ton of them from January - April, so she's getting a lot of practice!  She did a great job of helping Daddy blow out his candles.
Here's a video of Jocelyn singing her ABC's.  You have to listen closely - she tends to leave out some of the middle letters...who needs them anyway?  She's starting to sing more and more and I love listening to her sing!  It's amazing to me how much of the lyrics she knows.  Also, notice the multitude of barettes she's wearing.  She's becoming quite adamant about which ones she wears each day, and this day it was 5 different "pretty" ones.

Hegache

Today I woke up with a pounding headache.  Of course, on a day I'm home by myself with Jocelyn.  Luckily after breakfast she played great by herself, so I was able to lay on the couch and rest.  She is the sweetest girl!  She asked, "You have hegache, Mama?"  and I told her that yes, I still had a headache.  She then said, "Me get you piwow, bwankie and stuffed animaws."  She told me to lift my head up, put the pillow under my head, covered me up with two blankets and got me one of her dolls.  After she had me all tucked in, she said, "Wook at you!  You so nice and cozy."  What a lucky Mama I am!
