Dance Recital

Jocelyn had her dance recital on Thursday night.  It was so cute!  She did a great job, and I was pretty impressed with her teachers - they really did a nice job with all the girls.  They showed off 3 skills they had learned, and then did their ballet and jazz dance; each one twice.  They had to wear their t-shirts for the recital, which amazingly she didn't object to.  It was about the funniest thing I've ever seen!  She's very sad that dance class is over, so I think we'll probably do the fall session again.  After seeing this though, I don't think I'm going to have her do a studio anytime soon.  She's just too young to have the attention span or coordination for me to commit to a year (or even half a year) long thing.  And she could care less - she thought this was great!  Mom and Dad came over for the recital, and Ama and Bumpa came too.  She was pretty proud!

Elliot's Birthday

We headed over to the Cities for Elliot's 1st birthday on April 29th.  It was also Angie's birthday and Adam's dad's birthday!  So we had 3 cakes.  Yummy - my kind of party!  Elliot's party was Cars themed - didn't Adam's car cake turn out awesome?  I was quite impressed.  It was a beautiful sunny day, a bit windy, but the kids spent some time outside and we had lunch outside, which was great.  We have so much fun being aunts and uncles.  He's growing up so much and is such a happy, laid back guy.  Happy birthday to our precious boy!

Not quite sure what to think about all those people singing at him....

As you can see, he LOVES balls.
 And books!
 That silly Henry guy

Cory

We had a great 3 weeks with Cory while he was home on leave.  The girls were so excited to see him.  I wasn't sure how Jocey would react, but I think we talk about him so often that she remembers.  She didn't hesitate, just ran right up to him and gave him a big hug.  I think it made his week.  Ginger was the funniest though, she was so excited to see him and didn't stop for at least 2 minutes, just whining and crawling all over him.  Again, made his week. :)

He's changed so much in the past year and a half - he's definitely more responsible, considerate, and just an all around more grown up guy.  We're so proud of him!  He heads off to Afganistan in June, and we won't see him again until probably next summer.

Easter

Yes, I know, Easter was over a month ago.  I'm not really sure what we've done all month, but here it is the middle of May already.  Yikes - I hate to see what the summer will do to my sense of time!

We hung around here for Easter - Cory was home on leave from the Army, so everyone gathered here to see him and celebrate.  It was a beautiful day and we had fun seeing relatives we hadn't seen in a while.
